My name is Jake Vaage and I’m an automotive technician in the pre-owned vehicles department at Beaverton KIA.
I love what I do and I confess that I’m quite good at it. I have over 15 years experience working on everything from old Porsches to new Toyotas, fleet vehicles to race cars. Luckily, at Beaverton Kia we diagnose, repair, and service most makes and models.
I know how hard it is to find a good shop you can trust. Being both considerate to the environment and your wallet, I promise to give you a straightforward prognosis of your beloved grocery-getter. I’ll recommend fixing only what I believe is sensible and necessary, and I’ll explain to you the reason for each repair.
Please feel free to call, text or email me with questions.
To make an appointment, call the dealership directly, 503-526-2131.
I hope to see you soon!
PS We use only high grade oils that we purchase in bulk, and we diligently recycle plastics, cardboard, waste oils, refrigerant, and antifreeze. Nice, right?
PersonalI grew up hunting and fishing. It was my father’s passion. He was a fishing guide for 28 years and worked sparingly so he could hunt several days per week during the fishing off-season. I was his main hunting partner. My food plate growing up consisted of 1 part animal, 1 part fresh garden veggie, and 1 part starchy food.
Eating animals and hunting them was just part of what we did. Back in late 2015 I met my now wife, an animal activist. What an unlikely couple, huh?! Haha! Anyway, I ended up doing 22-day vegan challenge in the beginning of 2016 that changed my life. I lost 7 pounds, my skin cleared up, and I started sleeping more efficiently.
Learning about factory farming, which I was totally ignorant of, challenged my value system. I immediately gave up factory farmed food and stopped hunting and fishing not too long afterward. Since then, I’ve been an advocate and activist of the plant-based lifestyle. I’ve taken a strong interest in fitness and cooking delicious whole-food cuisine.
My wife and I also help organize National Animal Rights Day, Portland Animal Activism, as well as fundraising for local sanctuaries.
