How to write and publish your nonfiction book. Private consultations.Visit Website
As a successful non-fiction author (five published books, including a New York Times bestseller and translations in more than a dozen languages), I want to help others find success in their writing aspirations.
My private consultations on How to Write and Publish Your Non-fiction Book will help you with the process of writing a non-fiction book from the initial idea stage through to publication. Topics include: identifying and honing your idea; preparing a book proposal; finding and approaching literary agents (or not); understanding the basics of publishing contracts, advances, and royalties; tips for researching and writing your book; getting constructive feedback; and delivering a winning manuscript.
We can focus on any of these topics to suit your needs.
Consultations include an initial 90-minute call, and an optional 60-minute Skype or phone conversation up to one year following the initial consultation to update your project and discuss next steps.
I can provide you with a sample book proposal, and your fee includes a signed copy of my first published book: Pleasurable Kingdom (Macmillan, 2006; six foreign editions).
PersonalLooking back, I was always a vegan waiting to happen.
From my earliest memories, I adored all animals and it was only a matter of time before I connected the dots and realized the incompatibility of adoring and simultaneously eating them. After finishing an undergraduate degree in biology, I took a year off studies and spent 3 months in India. That journey provided the impetus to go vegetarian, something I’d long aspired to.
Five years later, I went vegan upon realizing that dairy cows and egg-laying hens still go to slaughter when they become too unproductive to warrant extending their miserable lives.
Thirty years on, being plant-based is second nature to me. It defines me as a biologist, author, and public speaker who wishes not to eat his clients! And it is rewarding in countless ways, from the good feeling I get when purchasing products from companies offering fabulous alternatives to meat and dairy, to the good health and fitness I enjoy on a daily basis.
And at no time in history has there been such a groundswell of positive interest in, and conversion towards, plant-based living. When Beyoncé supports it, you know it’s mainstream.
