Animal Reiki offers simple techniques to help us relax and connect deeply with animals and support them through peaceful, compassionate energy.
Animals are naturally drawn to us in this peaceful, mindful, compassionate space. We become healing partners. Animal Reiki is a beautiful way to support our well-being and the well-being of animals. Animals happily share their world with us – a world of understanding, acceptance, connection, and love. This is true and authentic.
I teach Animal Reiki classes at an equine sanctuary in Sandy, Oregon and donate 25% to the sanctuary. I also offer in-person and distance reiki sessions to your personal animal companions.
Distance Reiki is just as effective as in-person and sometimes the best option especially for animals that are traumatized and afraid of people, or who are sick and don’t want to be touched. During a distance session, I sit in meditation in my home during the same time that the animal and person also sit in silence together in their home. The connection happens because everything exists of energy and vibration, and animals are so sensitive to this connection. And because love and compassion are truly healing.
PersonalUntil three years ago I ate eggs, dairy, and occasionally chicken and fish. It was at that time that I started volunteering at animal sanctuaries to offer reiki to the animals. As my love, respect, connection, and compassion for the animals grew, I made the decision to become vegan. The animals became “Friends Not Food.”
I had tried veganism in the past but this time my commitment came from a deeper place inside… from my heart and my love for the animals, from a desire to be in service to them.
I participated in a 22-day vegan challenge and watched movies like Cowspiracy and What the Health. The more I learned, the more I came to understand the overall impact of animal agriculture and the horrific treatment and brutal slaughter of animals. Veganism became a moral decision for me.
I’m fortunate that I live in Portland, Oregon where there are many animal activist groups which gives me the opportunity to be in service in a more active way.
